Questions about floor care
How often do hard floors need to be stripped and waxed?
For most commercial VCT, once or twice a year with burnishing in between. Stripping more often than that removes finish you paid for; leaving it longer means the finish is gone and the tile itself starts taking the wear, which is a far more expensive problem.
Why does the price vary so much per square foot?
Strip and wax starts at $0.80 per square foot, but the final number depends on the condition the floor is in and how many coats it needs. A floor that has been maintained takes fewer coats than one that has not been touched in four years. We quote after seeing it rather than guessing on the phone.
Can you do this without shutting us down for a day?
That is the reason we work after hours. Strip and wax needs the floor empty and dry while it cures, which is exactly what an overnight window gives you. The floor is walkable before your team arrives.
